First Aid Re-qualification

A 2 day intensive re-qualification/refresher course covering most of the topics previously covered on the initial 3 day FAW Certificate Course.
Duration: 2 days including examination Normal hours 9am - 4.45pm each day

Aims and Objectives: On completion of the course the candidate will be able to deal with:

  • Action at an emergency
  • Poisoning
  • Burns and scalds
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.)
  • Record keeping
  • Use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Anaphylactic shock
  • Neck and Back injuries
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Unconscious casualties
  • Poisoning
  • Eye injuries
  • Treatment of Shock
  • Recognise Major illness including Heart Attack, Stroke, Diabetes, epilepsy, asthma etc.
  • Head injuries
  • HSE Legislation and requirements record keeping etc

Entry Requirements:

Candidates MUST have a current First Aid Certificate on date of exam. NB: a lapsed certificate by more than 28 days will require a full 3 day course.

Qualification

Successful completion following assessment will result in renewal of the First Aid Work Certificate for a further three years.

Annual half day refresher training will be provided FREE to MFTG certificate holders.
