Paediatric First Aid


Description:

A comprehensive course providing sufficient knowledge and practical skills to allow the candidate to deal with sudden illness and emergencies with children. This course is designed to allow for variations in candidate requirements and can be balanced to suit particular needs and is especially suitable for child minders, school and nursery staff. The course is also ideal for anyone who feels a basic knowledge of Childcare First Aid would be advantageous to them and their organisation.

Duration:

1 day (no examination)
Normal hours 9.00am - 4.30pm

Aims and Objectives:

On completion of the course the candidate will be able to deal effectively with:

Action at an Emergency
Resuscitation procedures C.P.R techniques
       
Choking casualties
Unconscious casualties
       
Wounds and bleeding
Dealing with Shock
       
Burns
Miscellaneous illnesses and injuries
       
Recognition of illness
 Record keeping etc



Entry Requirements:

None

Qualification:

On successful completion candidates will be awarded a Certificate in Emergency First Aid -Chidcare valid for three years.
