Description:

A short intensive refresher course covering most of the topics previously covered on the Initial Certificate Course

Duration:

2 days including examination
Normal hours 9am - 4.45pm each day

Aims and Objectives:

On completion of the course the candidate will be able to deal with:

Action at an emergency
Soft tissue injuries
       
Poisoning
Unconscious casualties
       
Burns and scalds
Eye injuries
       
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.)
Head injuries
       
Anaphylactic Shock
Treatment of shock
       
Record keeping
Heart attacks, Strokes seizures etc
       
Wounds and Bleeding
HSE Legislation and requirements record keeping etc
       
Broken Bones
Neck and Back injuries
       

Entry Requirements:

Candidates MUST have a current First Aid Certificate on date of exam. NB: a lapsed certificate by more than 28 days will require a full 3 day course

Qualification:


Successful completion following assessment will result in renewal of the First Aid Work Certificate for a further three years.
