Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)


Description:

A comprehensive course providing sufficient knowledge and practical skills to allow the candidate to deal with sudden illness and emergencies. This course is designed to allow for variations in candidate requirements or can be balanced to suit special company/industry needs and is particularly suitable for companies whose Risk Assessment allows for a reduced level of cover. The course is ideal for all members of staff particularly those who feel a basic knowledge of First Aid would be advantageous to them and the company.

Duration:

1 day (no examination)
Normal hours 9.00am - 4.30pm

Aims and Objectives:

On completion of the course the candidate will be able to deal effectively with:

Action at an Emergency
Resuscitation procedures C.P.R techniques
       
Choking casualties
Unconscious casualties
       
Wounds and bleeding
Dealing with Shock
       
Burns
Miscellaneous illnesses and injuries
       
Recognition of illness
H S E Requirements record keeping etc

In addition candidates will be provided with knowledge of the requirements of reporting and recording incidents.

None

Qualification:

On successful completion candidates will be awarded a Certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work valid for three years.
